Livingston schools will see major construction projects over the summer
LIVINGSTON - Three schools in Livingston Parish will see major construction projects started this summer to be finished for the 2025-26 school year. Albany Upper and Lower Elementary Schools will see a new cafeteria, allowing for greater seating for both schools, and a new classroom wing with four new classrooms.
Leadership Ascension program graduates 29th class
The Ascension Chamber of Commerce announced its Leadership Ascension program graduated its 29th class. A crowd of more than 100 community leaders, alumni, supporters and sponsors were in attendance as the chamber honored the 2024 graduates in a ceremony sponsored by Bonfanti Investment Services at the Parc 73 Reception & Conference Center in Prairieville.
East Ascension ready for challenge with Matherne
East Ascension football starts anew in 2024 with Brock Matherne, the 12th coach in the history of the program. Matherne has an understanding of what it takes to be a state champion, having played a key role in Belle Chasse winning the Class 4A state title as an outstanding defensive back in 2008. He previously served as an assistant coach at South Lafourche and at John Ehret.
Four SAHS students win $1,000 Construction Scholarship
The Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS), Louisiana Construction Education Foundation (LCEF), Associated Builders and Contractors Pelican Chapter (ABC), and the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) are pleased to announce the 2024 recipients of the Jump Start Construction Connect Scholars program, the state’s first and only scholarship dedicated exclusively to Jump Start graduates who earn a Jump Start credential and a Louisiana high school diploma.
