Rehearsals for the Galesburg Community Chorus’ 2024-25 season start on Monday, September 9 from 7 – 9 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 101 N. Prairie Street. Auditions are not necessary, and everyone is welcome to join. Dues are $10 per semester, and music fees are $5 per semester. Students are not required to pay. Anyone who would like to participate but cannot pay the fees should contact the Business Manager at galesburgchorusmanager@gmail.com.

The season’s first concert of the season will be on Sunday, December 8 at 3 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, featuring Karl Jenkins’ “Stella Natalis” (“Star of Birth”) for chorus and orchestra and seasonal favorites.

“The music of ‘Stella Natalis’ is lively, exciting, unique, and often beautifully expressive,” says director Dr. Tim Pahel. “Singers and audience alike are sure to love it!”

The Galesburg Community Chorus is the oldest community music organization in the Galesburg area and is currently celebrating its 79 th anniversary. Click here for more information, including events and how to join the group.
