WHS alumni hit the links to support school’s baseball team
WALL TOWNSHIP — The Wall High School Baseball Hall of Fame held its annual golf outing this past Tuesday afternoon, continuing its efforts to fundraise for the school’s baseball team, as its been doing for the last two decades. Eighty two former alumni and baseball players took to Jumping Brook Country Club, in Neptune, for a day of food, golf, celebration and camaraderie.
Wall resident named Monmouth County Educator of the Year
WALL TOWNSHIP — Sara Mazzone, an English teacher and Wall Township resident, was named Monmouth County’s Educator of the Year by the state department of education (NJDOE) last week. The state selected a teacher from all 21 counties last week, with an in-person ceremony at The College of New Jersey on Aug.
Mayor’s Student Advisory Committee hosting school supply drive
BRICK TOWNSHIP — Mayor Lisa Crate’s Student Advisory Committee is hosting its annual School Supply Drive this month and is seeking donations for children who need the supplies for the upcoming school year. Students of the committee will be collecting new items, including backpacks, lunch bags, folders, pencils, pens, crayons, markers, erasers, glue sticks, scissors, pencil cases and sharpeners, highlighters, dry erase markers, construction paper, notebooks, one-inch binders, earbuds, tissues, hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes.
Carpets To Go Annual College Dorm Area Rug Giveaway
BRICK – Carpets To Go will be hosting their fourth annual College Dorm Area Rug Giveaway on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 10am, line starting at 8am. Carpets To Go has worked for 8-12 weeks to make 200 rugs for this event, which will all be given away for FREE to students and teachers.
Districts Vote To Raise School Taxes
HOWELL – Property taxes are going up in Howell Township after both Howell K-8 School District and Freehold Regional School District approved a tax levy increase. The increases come as a result of the long-term effects the S-2 funding formula has had on both districts, losing millions of state aid funding.

Red Bank, Middletown, Highlands students graduate from U. of Rhode Island
MONMOUTH COUNTY — The University of Rhode Island celebrated more than 4,100 of its newest alumni during the University's recent 2024 Commencement.
