LOGAN, Utah ( ABC4 ) — A car crash that hospitalized one person in Logan on Tuesday evening, July 2, was the aftermath of a domestic violence suspect fleeing police from a traffic stop.

According to the Logan Police Department, officers were called to the area of 900 West and 2200 South on reports of an aggravated domestic assault.

The suspect allegedly fled the scene in a car, which a Cache County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted near 1800 South and 1000 West. The deputy attempted to pull the suspect’s car over, but the suspect allegedly attempted to flee again.

“The suspect fled in the vehicle resulting in a collision with another vehicle in the area of 1300 West on 1800 South,” Logan City Police said in a statement.

Body recovered out of Little Dell Reservoir after hours-long search

The suspect was then taken to the local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The occupants in the other car were treated at the scene and fortunately did not receive any serious injuries.

The suspect’s identity was not publicly released.

Detectives said an investigation into the aggravated domestic assault and the car crash are currently ongoing. Officials did not release any further information, pending the investigation.

The Northern Utah Critical Incident Protocol Team, led by the Cache County Attorney’s Office, has been activated to help with the investigation.
