Fire Incident Reported at Hartford's Wal-Mart Store
There is more information regarding an incident from Monday night, July 15 at Wal-Mart in the city of Hartford. Hartford Fire and Rescue responded to Wal-Mart for the report of black smoke emanating from a walk-in cooler. Customers and staff members were in the process of evacuating the store when firefighters arrived. A heavy haze of smoke was spotted inside of the store. Hartford Fire and Rescue personnel began investigating the cooler, which was still giving off smoke. The situation was brought under control in 45 minutes. The compressor of the cooler sustained moderate damage, due to the heat created, and also causing a refrigerant release. They were also able to control the leaking gas.
7-20-24 kwik trip robbery update
More information is coming to light about a suspect involved in Fond du Lac convenience store robbery. Nobody was injured after a 19 year old North Fond du Lac man robbed the North Main Street Kwik Trip early Monday morning, just a few hundred feet from the police station. Police Chief Aaron Goldstein says the suspect told employees to lock the front door and handed them a note demanding money. Goldstein says when an officer spotted the suspect walking along West Bank Street with a bag in his hand, the suspect took off running. “He started to run to the west and change started to fly out and dollar bills started to fly out. We were able to catch him just a couple blocks away,” Goldstein told WFDL news. Goldstein says the suspect had been released from prison the day before the robbery. “It didn’t take long from the release from prison for him to come back to this area and commit this crime.” Mason Enfeldt made his initial Fond du Lac court appearance this week on multiple charges including robbery, battery, resisting, criminal damage to property and bail jumping. Bail was set at $10,000 cash. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 26th.
De Pere Man Sentenced On Felony Fleeing Charges In Dodge County Court
(Emmett) A De Pere man has been found guilty of running from Dodge County authorities. Jordan Feemster entered a no contest plea to a felony count of Fleeing and a misdemeanor charge of Resisting. He was sentenced to 10 months in jail with work release privileges and was placed on probation for three years.
Multiple Agencies in Wild Chase, Apprehend Two Suspected in Armed Robbery, Shooting
A wild chase that began with an armed robbery and shooting in Omro ended in Fond du Lac with the arrests of two persons on Monday. Winnebago County and Omro Police were responding to the incident at about 7:15 p.m. Monday where they found a 65-year-old Omro man who advertised his car on Facebook Marketplace. He’d been shot when two persons answering the ad struggled over a firearm, prompting the suspects to flee south on I-41 toward Fond du Lac in a U-Haul truck.

The Fond du Lac Police chief says he can’t understand how a shooter was able to gain access to a building so close to where former president Donald Trump was speaking at a rally in Pennsylvania over the weekend. A bullet fired from the 20 year old sniper struck Trump in the ear. Fond du Lac Police Chief Aaron Goldstein says based on security from presidential visits to Fond du Lac in previous years, that building should have been secured. “They’re going to have to look at communication breakdowns, to ensure not only for the community there, but to ensure that this never happens again and it should have never happened in the first place,” Goldstein told WFDL news.
Third suspect sentenced in Fond du Lac Walmart Apple watch robbery case
FOND DU LAC (WLUK) – A third suspect was sentenced to four years in prison for stealing thousands of dollars of Apple watches from a Fond du Lac Walmart. Antonio Butler, 25, of Bent Harbor, Mich., pleaded no contest Tuesday to robbery with use of force and retail theft for the Oct. 15 incident. He was also placed on extended supervision for four years, court records show.
