Mercury Marine holding short-term layoffs, will impact 1,700 hourly employees
FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WBAY) - A month after a 300-employee job cut, Mercury Marine is holding short-term layoffs that will impact 1,700 hourly employees. According to a memo obtained by Action 2 News and verified by Mercury Marine, the company’s Fond du Lac plant will be holding several short-term layoffs between July and November, with two having been completed from July 1-3 and July 8-12. One line of the plant will have short-term layoffs in early December.
Fond du Lac County Board Approves Plans for UW Campus
FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Fond du Lac County Board this week approved plans for the former University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Fond du Lac Campus buildings. The campus, now known as the Fond du Lac County Campus, will be used for state and county government offices and law enforcement training. The theater will remain a performing arts and event center, while the gymnasium will become a sports complex.
