London motorcycle crash leaves 1 dead, 1 seriously injured

LONDON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A motorcycle crash in Laurel County turned fatal for one person, while another is in serious condition.

According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 5 p.m. on Monday on U.S. Highway 25 in London.

Deputies said the driver of the motorcycle, 54-year-old Randy Schenk, lost control and he and his passenger were ejected from the vehicle. The passenger, 48-year-old Sherry Schenk, was rushed to Saint Joseph London Hospital, where she would later die as a result of her injuries.

The sheriff’s office said Randy was flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center and is being treated for serious injuries.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
