    LB detectives continue to investigate fatal crash in Lakewood

    A motorcyclist who was injured in a collision on the border of Long Beach and Lakewood has died, police said Friday, and they asked anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward.

    The collision occurred around 6:10 p.m. June 4 at the intersection of Carson Street and Ostrom Avenue, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

    The victim, who was riding a 2022 Yamaha motorcycle, was traveling west on Carson Street behind another vehicle and changed lanes as the driver of a 2007 Ford Edge was making a left turn onto Carson Street, police said. The motorcycle crashed into the Ford, leaving the rider with critical injuries.

    On July 12, detectives were notified the motorcyclist had died.. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office was working to identify victim.

    It was unclear if there were any other injuries, or if drugs or alcohol were involved in the collision.
