Iowans whose homes were destroyed by flooding or tornadoes can now apply for temporary housing assistance, Gov. Kim Reynolds announced Wednesday. The Disaster Recovery Temporary Housing Assistance Program is offered through the Federal Emergency Management Agency. This marks the first time that Iowa has been approved for the program, which is typically used in hurricane-prone states.

Crews continue working to clear trees in Davenport after tornado
City crews in Davenport and Bettendorf have been working non-stop to clear fallen trees, power lines, and debris after Monday night’s tornado. Scott County Emergency Management Deputy Director Jim Hawkes says the EF-1 tornado, which was on the ground for eight miles, left a tangle in its wake. “There’s a lot of tree damage, a lot of powerline damage. The cities are dealing a lot with trees that are tangled up in powerlines and they’ve been unable to clean them up,” he says. As of this morning, power has been restored to most of the area.

ROCK ISLAND -- The 2024 Augustana Vikings women's soccer schedule has been released and is now available for viewing. Augie opens the new season at home on August 30 when they welcome Concordia-Chicago to Thorson-Lucken Field before venturing on the road for the next four contests.
