NORTH CAROLINA (LOOTPRESS) – A North Carolina High School student is suing his school after they suspended him for saying the phrase ‘illegal aliens’ in class.

The 16-year-old’s mother, Leah McGhee, says the lawsuit is warranted because the High School was essentially calling her son a racist, and she doesn’t want his chances of getting into college ruined over a misunderstanding.

Christian McGhee, a Central Davidson High School sophomore, asked his English teacher for clarification when she asked to use the word ‘alien’ during a lesson. McGhee asked if she was referring to ‘space aliens or illegal aliens who need green cards’ .

Christian was sent to the principal’s office and was suspended for three days for ‘making a racially insensitive remark that caused a class disturbance.’

The mother asked for reconsideration of the suspension, but the principal said no. She went to the school board but never heard back. Christian is no longer enrolled at the school because he was being bullied and receiving threats.
