    Charleston USPS processing center to remain open, receive millions in federal funding

    CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The USPS Charleston Processing and Distribution Center will remain open.

    Mayor Amy Goodwin announced today that the United States Postal Service (USPS) Charleston Processing and Distribution Center will continue operating at full capacity and will receive millions of dollars in federal funding aimed at enhancing service to the local community.

    “It is tremendous news,” said Mayor Goodwin. “This is an essential service for everyone in our region and will provide job security to hundreds in our community.”

    Goodwin credited the efforts of Senator Joe Manchin and Senator Shelley Moore Capito for helping secure the funding, praising their commitment to protecting West Virginia jobs and maintaining services comparable to those available across the country.

    She also expressed gratitude to the American Postal Workers Union Local 133 for their persistence in fighting to keep jobs and services local. “We all benefit from their efforts,” she added.
