Get Ready to Sweat, Minnesota! The Summer Heat is On The Way. We are going to be feeling the heat the next few days! Summer is HERE!!! I just glanced at weather.com and looks like the high for Saturday will be 88 degrees for most of Southeast Minnesota. Minneapolis is supposed to be one of the hottest areas hitting at 91 degrees. Sunday, the temps look to be a bit higher than that though according to the National Weather Service. And if you know anyone in Iowa, pray that they've got air-conditioning because parts of the state are going to experience a heat index of 106 degrees!
Sen. Klobuchar says she's cancer-free but will get radiation as precaution after a spot removal
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar said Friday that she remains cancer-free following her bout with breast cancer in 2021, but doctors recently removed a small calcification and that she’ll get radiation treatment as a precaution. The Minnesota Democrat, who chairs the powerful Rules Committee, was successfully treated for early-stage breast cancer three years ago. Klobuchar said at the time that the cancer was detected during a routine mammogram. Her cancer was stage 1A, meaning it had not spread beyond the breast. She had a lumpectomy to remove it followed by radiation therapy. She was treated amid a busy hearing schedule involving the Jan 6. insurrection, including one treatment two days after her father died. In a post Friday on X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter, Klobuchar said she recently had a routine six-month exam at the Mayo Clinic.
STATEWIDE ALERT – Minnesota Teen Missing Since Late May
St. Cloud, MN (KROC-AM News) - A statewide missing person alert has been issued for a Minnesota teenager who has been missing since late May. The alert issued by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says 17-year-old Shikita Katie Jones was reported as a runaway from the home of a relative in St. Cloud on May 25. Officials say she is believed to be with an unidentified adult male.
Minnesota Water Park Investigating Source of Explosive Diarrhea Causing Parasite
One Minnesota water park is working with state officials to determine the source of a parasite that caused a "diarrheal illness" to guests. The Minnesota Department of Health says the guests got the illness that can cause symptoms like diarrhea, vomiting, stomach cramps and pains, and a fever from Cryptosporidiosis, which is spread from the stool of an infected person.

Brooklyn Park Council Weighs Remote Meeting Policy
The Brooklyn Park City Council is considering a policy to limit the number of times council members can attend meetings remotely. Under the proposed policy, council members could attend meetings remotely up to six times per calendar year and up to three times per calendar quarter.
