Geisinger Health Security Breach Exposed Up To One Million People
The security breach at Geisinger Health is bigger than first thought. On Wednesday, the hospital said as many as one million patients had their information exposed by a third-party employee who had access to their files. The hack was first discovered the week after Thanksgiving last year, and just reported a few weeks ago. Geisinger says the now-fired third party employee doesn’t appear to have accessed claims or insurance information, or people’s credit card or bank account numbers, other financial information, or Social Security numbers. There is an investigation into the breach, but as of yet, no charges have been filed.

(WHTM) — A new, locally owned cafe in Hummelstown that offers pre-made, home-cooked meals is having its official grand opening this weekend. ‘What Momma Makes’ is a new cafe owned and operated by Lower Dauphin natives Jodi and Nick Pendolino, who launched their first pre-made, home-cooked meal concept 10 months ago in their small Elizabethtown kitchen.
Western Pennsylvania celebrates Fourth of July with parades, fireworks
MONROEVILLE, Pa. — Pittsburgh's Action News 4 also stopped by Monroeville's annual Fourth of July parade. That parade started at 9 a.m. at the Miracle Mile Shopping Center and proceeds down Route 22 toward the convention center. The Monroeville Parade has been a tradition for more than 45 years.
Developer Presents Final Plan for Condo Hotel in Downtown State College
A developer has submitted final plans for a condominium hotel in downtown State College, with the start of construction anticipated in early 2025. James Venture and Jamison Morse, of Sewickley-based VS Development Consultants, presented to the State College Planning Commission on Wednesday the final land development plan for the nine-story, mixed-use building called Nittany Residence Club. Pending approvals and permitting, the building will be constructed at 321 W. Beaver Ave., at the corner of South Atherton Street and West Beaver Avenue.
