Padres catcher Kyle Higashioka visited the National Museum of the United States Army in Fort Belvoir, Virginia on the Padres day off, and received a replica of the Congressional Gold Medal in honor of his grandfather G. Shigeru Higashioka.

Police arrest Alexandria man for felony hit and run on Duke Street that seriously injured teen
The Alexandria Police Department (APD) said Alexandria resident Earl Lucas was arrested after the man allegedly hit a teen with his car on Duke Street and fled the scene. In a release, APD said officers responded to a report of a hit-and-run around 12:26 a.m. on Sunday, July 21, at the intersection of Duke and Jordan Streets. APD said a passing motorist’s dashcam helped police identify Lucas.
