SANTA CLARA COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- CHP Hollister-Gilroy has reopened Highway 101 at Masten Avenue in both directions after hours due to police activity in the area. The CHP says an individual was on the edge of the Masten Avenue overpass, but the individual has been safely removed from the overpass. A man who crashed his vehicle into a residence early Thursday morning in South San Jose had been fatally shot, according to police.Police responded to multiple reports of a firearm discharged and a vehicle collision at 4:49 a.m. Thursday on the 5900 block of Liska Lane, near the Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center. Sheriff's office IDs drug store security guard shot dead in Fremont last month
FREMONT -- A CVS security guard who was shot and killed last month at a store in Fremont was identified by the Alameda County Sheriff's Office as Abakr Mohamed Amin, a 41-year-old Sacramento resident.The shooting at the store in the Fremont Hub Shopping Center occurred at about 11 p.m. on June 13, when Amin was shot after an argument with someone who came into the store.Amin died at the scene after life-saving measures were unsuccessful.The other person was hospitalized with multiple stab wounds.The homicide remains under investigation.
