Bronny James’ agent seems to be intent on steering him to one of two potential NBA teams.

A report in late May said that James only had pre-draft workouts scheduled with the Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns. The report also said James does not want to be signed to a two-way contract and is concerned with a team’s plan to develop him.

On Tuesday, ESPN’s Jonathan Givony echoed that report and expressed the difficulty teams were having when trying to evaluate James.

Givony notably said that NBA teams with whom he has talked say “they cannot get Bronny James into the building.” The only teams that have been able to work out James are the Lakers and Suns.

Givony says James’ agent Rich Paul does not want Bronny on a two-way contract even though two-way contracts are common for players selected late in the second round.

Givony currently has Bronny projected to be drafted No. 55 overall by the Lakers.

The reports are not too surprising. James underperformed in his lone season at USC, which led many to question why Bronny would remain in the draft. His father LeBron James long had made it clear that teaming up with his son in the NBA was a big career goal. The Lakers drafting Bronny would allow that goal to come to fruition.
