While A'Ja Wilson, Sabrina Ionescu, Kelsey Plum, along with the youngsters Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, are carrying the torch for women's basketball right now, renowned sports agent Rich Paul believes another NCAA star has the potential to bring the sport to new heights with her play and personality: USC Trojans' JuJu Watkins .

After a spectacular first year at USC, where she shattered nearly every record, including the NCAA Division I freshman scoring record previously set by Tina Hutchinson in 1984, the 6-foot-2 shooting guard is seemingly destined for great things. However, the Klutch Sports Group CEO believes that the native of Los Angeles has a lot more to offer than her spectacular game.

    Has it all

The First-Team All-American provided hoop fans with unforgettable moments in her first year as a Trojan. From her explosive college debut that saw her drop 32 points on Ohio State to her 32-point, 10-rebound outing against the highly-touted UCLA to her career-high 51 points and 11 rebounds against Cameron Brink and the Stanford Cardinals, JuJu showed how exceptional a talent she is.

The Freshman of the Year finished the season averaging 27.1 points and 7.3 rebounds and is set for an encore performance later this year. However, Rich said there's a lot more to Watkins than her prodigious basketball skills that will make her an influential sports figure sooner than later.

"The foundation of JuJu Watkins as a basketball player, combined with the foundation of JuJu Watkins as a person—when you put those two things together, you have what could be the most influential basketball player for the future," the super agent told Gilbert Arenas on "Gil's Arena."

"She touches all the elements: stylish, personality-wise, thoughtful, and gives back to her community. She was doing that as a sophomore; she was thinking that way," Rich said of JuJu, who signed with the Klutch Sports Group back when she was only a sophomore in high school.

    She has the intangibles

Women's basketball has seen tremendous growth over the last few months, thanks in large part to Caitlin's sensational, record-breaking play in the NCAA. She has since carried that momentum to the WNBA , where crowds are filling arenas wherever she plays. Although the sport is growing by leaps and bounds, there's still plenty of work that needs to be doneto get it to a level playing field with men's basketball. Rich believes JuJu can be a game-changer in this regard.

"She's hardworking, knows what she wants, and I've been in meetings where she's attentive, asking questions, not making it only about her. She's trying to understand and is willing to listen," Paul said. "Her future is extremely bright."

Caitlin, Angel Reese, Breanna Stewart, and Diana Taurasi may be the "it" girls of women's basketball now, but there's no denying Juju got next.
