Start making your weekend plans because it's already Thursday. Today's forecast will be much like yesterday — hot and sunny.

There's been a slight decrease in temperatures for the high desert — a high of upper 90s up to 102 degrees. Coachella Valley highs are still in the triple digits with a high of 112 degrees. The excessive heat warning for the deserts should break by 8 p.m. tonight.

Inland areas and valleys will still see highs in the 80s, low 90s — 84 degrees for Anaheim, 83 degrees for downtown Los Angeles.

There'll be a bit of June Gloom for the coastal areas and inland coast including downtown Los Angeles, where you can expect patchy fog for the morning. But don't worry, the sun will come back.

Tonight's lows will drop to the mid 60s, low 70s for the deserts.

      This day in history

On this day in 1976, a significant heat wave hit Southern California where Alpine reached up to 109 degrees.
