On ESPN’s "First Take" Thursday morning, Stephen A. Smith shared some bold thoughts on which NBA team would be best for Bronny James.

Smith weighed in on the Lakers' potential approach to LeBron James' son, agreeing with co-host C.J. McCollum that Bronny should start with the Lakers' organization.

However, Smith suggested Bronny begin with the G League team rather than making a direct jump to the NBA.

He pointed out the combination of the Lakers' current lineup and the intense media spotlight in Los Angeles might not be ideal for Bronny.

“You talk about a distraction, there’s no way around it,” Smith said. "But you also have to sit back and wonder to some degree what that life would be like in that locker room if he’s in there with his dad," he later added.

Despite acknowledging potential distractions, Smith maintained his admiration for Bronny, saying he’s a fan of his game.

He emphasized that a direct move to the Lakers' main roster, especially under rookie head coach J.J. Redick , might not be the best fit for Bronny.

Smith also highlighted Denver and Philadelphia as potential landing spots where Bronny could thrive.
