Former Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Raul Mondesi has been sentenced to six years and nine months in prison — plus a fine of 30 million pesos [approximately $500,000].

Mondesi, who suited up in the MLB for 13 seasons from 1993-2005, was sentenced for embezzlement.

"BREAKING: Former MLB star Raul Mondesi is sentenced to six years and nine months in prison, and the payment of a fine of 30 million pesos (about US$500,000), for embezzlement of funds during his tenure as mayor of San Cristóbal, DR, in the period 2010-2016," Hector Gomez reported.

Mondesi began his MLB career with the Dodgers, unanimously winning NL Rookie of the Year in 1994. The two-time Gold Glove winner also spent time with the Blue Jays, Yankees, Diamondbacks, Pirates, Angels and Braves.

Mondesi made the All-Star team in 1995 and finished his career with 271 home runs and 860 RBI on a .273 batting average.

Mondesi was sentenced for corruption and mishandling of public funds for the first time back in 2017.
