    details:

He has signed his first NBA contract with them just days after they took him with the No. 55 pick in last week’s draft. He will wear jersey No. 9, and he was introduced to the Los Angeles-area media at a press conference on Tuesday.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), NBA insider Shams Charania shared a couple of details about the younger James’ contract. The deal is for a total of four seasons, with a team option in the fourth year, and it will pay the 19-year-old $7.9 million.

Bronny James is likely to play in the Lakers’ NBA summer league opener on Friday, July 12, at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time, 4:30 Pacific, on ESPN and ESPN Plus. Summer league should give the Lakers a first strong impression of what Bronny needs to work on in the development of his game. One would think he will receive the chance to accompany LeBron James on one or two plane flights for Laker games, but most of his 2024-2025 season should be spent in the G League.
