Preliminary information from sources indicates that five people were transported to local hospitals with stab wounds after a group reportedly started fighting while launching fireworks in the street in the 12000 block of Osborne Place. There may be additional victims who declined hospital transport. The Los Angeles Police Department is currently investigating the incident.

Three witnesses spoke on camera to KNN at the scene, expressing their dismay over what started out as a Fourth of July family celebration with children, erupted into violence. “It’s like you can’t enjoy anything anymore without bad things happening,” stated one of the witnesses.

According to the witnesses who each recounted what they saw, a small fight initially broke out not far from the witnesses, escalated in the street where someone was stabbed, then a shootout occurred along with someone throwing bottles. Other acts of violence were carried out and described by the witnesses.

“It just escalated so quick from something being so nice and beautiful with the fireworks to something just being so ugly.”

Additional information and any updates will be added to this report when made available by authorities.
