NBA Star Russell Westbrook and Wife Seen at WNBA Game Amid Trade Rumors

LA Clippers star Russell Westbrook is widely expected to be traded this offseason. The nine-time NBA All-Star saw his playing time diminish last season after the Clippers traded for James Harden, and is now likely headed elsewhere.

The Denver Nuggets have been among the teams rumored to have strong trade interest in Westbrook, and those rumors continue to circulate as the first week of free agency concludes. Averaging 11.1 PPG, 5.0 RPG, and 4.5 APG last season in just 22.5 minutes per game, Westbrook could give the 2023 NBA champions some great production off their bench or even in their starting lineup if he ends up there.

As he awaits a trade, Westbrook and his wife were seen at the Las Vegas Aces vs. LA Sparks game in Los Angeles on Friday night:

A Los Angeles native, Westbrook grew up not far from where the Sparks play their home games. Having played the last three seasons of his NBA career in Los Angeles, Westbrook has been able to play close to his family, but that may be ending soon.

A big advocate for the WNBA, Westbrook recently spoke with Forbes on the league's growth:

Both Westbrook and his wife Nina played basketball at UCLA, which is where they met. The couple has lived in Los Angeles for years, and likely will continue to keep their home there even if Westbrook ends up being traded.

Taking in some WNBA action as he awaits word on his next team, Westbrook saw the Sparks defeat the Aces in overtime on Friday night.
