Dodgers slugger had rare hot streak at the plate

Dodgers catcher Will Smith on Saturday launched a two-run home run in the bottom of the first that gave Los Angeles a 2-1 lead over the Milwaukee Brewers and pushed Smith into rarified air.

The two-run blast was Smith's fourth in the last two games, and fourth in his last four at-bats. He also homered thrice in Friday's 8-5 win over the Brewers with a couple of walks sandwiched between the HRs.

According to the Dodgers, he's the first Dodger to homer in four consecutive ABs since Adrian Gonzalez in 2015:

Smith's streak came to an end when he flew out to centerfield to end the bottom of the second.

The hot streak of four homers in two games has lifted his total to 15 on the season. He's on pace for 27 home runs this year which would be a career-high for the 29-year-old.
