MLB Makes Big Shohei Ohtani Announcement After Historic Performance

Prior to Saturday's Los Angeles Dodgers game, Japanese superstar Shohei Ohtani was riding an ice-cold 1-for-12 streak at the plate.

This includes him going 0-for-5 on Friday (which was his 30th birthday) and striking out six straight times on Thursday.

But Ohtani flipped the script on Saturday.

During the Dodgers' 5-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday, Ohtani went 2-for-2 with a home run, a triple, two walks, a hit by pitch, and a stolen base.

And after the game, the MLB announced that this performance made Ohtani is the third player in history with a home run, triple, walk, hit by pitch and stolen base in a single game.

It also makes him the last Dodger to record a triple, walk, hit by pitch and stolen base in a game since baseball legend Jackie Robinson did so in 1953.

Ohtani's home run on Saturday was his 28th of the MLB season, which puts him in second place behind Yankees slugger Aaron Judge (32) for the most home runs this year.

Othani is also one homer away from 200 in his big league career, according to ESPN.
