To say that this USC Trojans recruiting cycle has been a roller coaster would be an understatement. Well, we must be at the proverbial top of the coaster as the Trojans just gained a commitment from four-star wide receiver Tanook Hines.

As we talked about on the USC LAFB Show last week, this is an even bigger commitment than it looks on paper. At 6’1, 185 pounds, Hines is the prototypical size for a WR in a Lincoln Riley offense. He is a very twitchy runner with great route-running ability and blazing speed. He demonstrates tremendous talent on tap that will certainly excite fans at the Coliseum.

Hines displays his speed as a track athlete as well. As a junior, he ran season-best times of a 10.45 100 and a 20.71 200, which earned him silver in the Texas 6A division, per Athletic.net .

In his 2023 season, Hines finished with 35 receptions, 528 yards, and 5 touchdowns.

Hines joins a 2025 class that has two WRs also committed, four-star Corey Simms out of Missouri, and four-star Romero Ison out of Maryland.

This is not guaranteed, but you would think that Lincoln Riley will be satisfied with these three commitments at the WR position, and will now turn his focus to other positions of need, specifically on the defensive line.
