Bronny James' Lakers Teammate Gives Honest Opinion About Summer League Breakout

The Los Angeles Lakers got a win on Wednesday night at the Las Vegas Summer League in an 88-87 contest against the Atlanta Hawks.

Rookie Bronny James, who has caught a lot of heat in just a handful of appearances, had his best game so far in the Lakers uniform. On Wednesday, Bronny scored 12 points on 5-of-11 from the field including a pair of three-pointers in an encouraging performance.

After the game, teammate Colin Castleton addressed how Bronny has dealt with the criticism thus far, per Daniel Starkland.

"Great. I think he's stepping into a new role, it takes a little bit of time. He has a lot of pressure on him so he has a great mindset. He's a great kid, great teammate. Everybody in the organization loves being around him. And he took great shots tonight. He got in a good rhythm, that was the biggest thing to get in a good rhythm. But he's dealing with the pressure amazing."

Before Wednesday, Bronny's offensive game was a talking point. He even stated he would be open to any role, including time in the G League . JJ Redick, the new coach in LA, admired Bronny's defense even with the way he had played on the offensive end.

But, Wednesday was certainly a step in the right direction for the rookie, especially after Jaylen Brown's viral comments surfaced. It's still very early in Bronny James' career, but games such as this one show why he could find a consistent role in the NBA.
