Along with some of metal's biggest power players, Sharon Osbourne is looking back on the iconic Ozzfest that she created in 1996 after her husband, Ozzy Osbourne , was turned down for inclusion on Lollapalooza's bill, and as it turns out some memories can be hostile as well as hilarious.

Speaking with Billboard about her fond memories of the long-running metal fest, Sharon recalled that one time she decided to get some friends together to throw eggs at singer Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden , who were co-headlining the annual tour on a number of dates that year alongside Black Sabbath .

Apparently, Sharon took offense when Dickinson allegedly made some disparaging comments about reality television -- a la her family’s new MTV series The Osbourne s -- so she decided to egg the band during their final tour stop in Los Angeles.

Dickinson, acknowledging the incident , told the crowd at the time, “You might have noticed that a few wise-a**es decided they would go down the supermarket and buy a few f***ing eggs and start throwing them at us down the front. I guess they thought they’d be funny. Well my friends, this is an English f***ing flag and these colors do not f***ing run from U.S. whites!"

He continued, "We know that there's a bunch of Iron Maiden fans out there... I would suggest that if you see someone throwing some s*** at this band -- which incidentally Niko [ McBrain ] is cleaning off his drum kit -- when they raise their arm, make sure that when it goes down it's in two f***ing pieces for me, OK!”

As for how it all went down, Sharon explained, “I had been having cancer treatments, and all the nurses that I had met over my year in chemo came to the show and they said, ‘Can we do anything for you?’ And I’m like, ‘Yes, you can.'" She adds, "I loaded them up with cans of bean soup, vegetables, eggs, and I said, ‘Pelt the singer.’ And that’s what they did.” Read the full article right HERE .

19 years later, Sharon says she felt Dickenson was “eaten up with jealousy” over her metal icon husband Ozzy 's success. “Just the singer,” she adds. “The other guys in the band are great, great people. No problem at all. But when you’ve got a singer that is so eaten up with jealousy for the headliner, it never goes well.”

Last month, bassist and Black Sabbath co-founder Geezer Butler updated fans after getting quite a few hopes up for a final Sabbath show with all of the band's original members. "It's up to everyone’s health, but I can't see it happening," he says. "I'd love it to happen, even if it was one final song with the original four of us, with Bill on the drums. Even if it's just one song."
