It may have taken time for Bronny James to find his footing in the NBA Summer League, but better late than never.

James arguably had his best performance to date, recording a stat-line of 13 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two blocks. He shot from the field this time around, making five of his shots from the field to have an accuracy of 50% overall for the first time throughout his stint in the NBA Summer League so far.

He teamed up with fellow teammate Dalton Knecht, who impressed offensively with 20 points and seven rebounds, to will the Los Angeles Lakers to a 93-89 over the Cleveland Cavaliers and improve the team's record to 2-2.

Seeing the progress James is making on both sides of the ball, Oklahoma City Thunder big man Chet Holmgren took to Twitter to show his high remarks for the rookie guard.

Holmgren seems to be taking a swipe at the comments star guard Jaylen Brown made towards James while observing his performance against the Boston Celtics on July 15.

To be fair to Brown, the NBA Summer League hasn't been the most pleasant for James. He is averaging 8.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and an assist on 35% shooting from the field and 15.8% from beyond the arc.

His last two games have shown huge improvements, putting up 12.5 points, three rebounds, and 1.5 assists on 47.6% shooting overall and 37.5% from downtown. Both have resulted in victories, as he is now helping Knecht in providing baskets in the Lakers offense.

He's also impressed on the defensive side of the ball. With three steals and two blocks, he has the third-most by any rookie guard throughout the Summer League.

Now that James appears to be taking a step forward with his game, it would be plausible to believe that more players will come forward to praise the rookie for persevering through his struggles and proving his doubters wrong.
