After struggling in his Summer League debut, Los Angeles Lakers second-round pick and former USC Trojans guard Bronny James missed a game versus the Golden State Warriors. He then came back into the Laker lineup and struggled for a few games. Then he posted his two most encouraging games of the summer league against the Hawks and Cavaliers. Bronny’s overall collection of results was mixed, but the big picture is something everyone has to be honest about, including and especially Bronny himself: He is not ready to be a regular rotational player in the NBA. He will need time to develop. This was always the reality, and nothing about summer league changed that for Lakers fans who are eager to see James back on the court.

Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix joins Rich Eisen in-studio to discuss more in depth about all things Bronny James and his NBA summer league season with the Lakers. Just exactly how should we view Bronny’s long-term NBA future?
