Slash is mourning the death of his 25-year-old stepdaughter, Lucy-Bleu Knight, the daughter of the Guns N’ Roses guitarist’s current partner, Meegan Hodges.

The guitarist announced her passing with a statement on Instagram :

“Lucy-Bleu Knight (December 6, 1998), beloved daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight, stepdaughter of Samantha Somers Knight and Slash, sister of Scarlet Knight, stepsister of London and Cash Hudson, passed away peacefully in Los Angeles, CA on July 19, 2024.

Lucy-Bleu was an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul.

The family asks for privacy at this time and requests that social media speculation be kept to a minimum as they grieve and process this devastating loss.”

In the comments, fans and friends of Slash and his family reached out to express their condolences, such as Susan Holmes McKagan, wife of Slash’s Guns N’ Roses bandmate Duff McKagan: “Words cannot express our deepest sympathy and condolences. Love you all so much.”

Musician Violet Grohl, daughter of Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl, wrote: “My heart hurts for you guys. All the love to your family rn.”

Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea commented, “Oh man, god bless.”

Twelve hours prior to revealing the news of Lucy-Bleu’s passing, Slash had announced the cancellation of four shows on his ongoing S.E.R.P.E.N.T. blues festival tour due to “unforeseen circumstances.” The outing is expected to resume in Toronto on July 28th, with two dates in Ohio, a Michigan gig, and a show in Ontario among the canceled dates.
