All of college football’s finest media members have converged on the great city of Indianapolis for Big Ten Media Days at Lucas Oil Stadium. While there are plenty of storylines and excitement involving the conference, the four new schools joining this season are the talk of the town. And, as you would expect, the USC Trojans are at the epicenter.

There has been plenty of discussion, and discourse, on how USC will fair this season, but one analyst believes in what they are building.

Big Ten Commentator and former Michigan Tight End, Jake Butt, had this to say during a Wednesday broadcast:

“When Lincoln Riley is your coach, regardless of who’s under center, Miller Moss will be a Heisman candidate and they’ll put up 40 points a game. D’Anton Lynn will have that defense competing for a conference championship.”

Will USC Trojans Make The Jump In 2024?

After a disappointing 8-5 season, the program has been heavily scrutinized. However, it had an offense that still finished 11th in the country. So if the Trojans could get any semblance of a competent defense, you have to think this will be a pretty solid football team.

Well, not only did Lincoln Riley build one of the best defensive staffs in the country, headlined by former UCLA Bruins DC, D’Anton Lynn, but they also added some really talented players in the portal and in the 2024 recruiting class.

Miller Moss will have some big shoes to fill, but after a record-setting performance in the Holiday Bowl, he certainly looks like he has the potential to make Jake Butt a prophet.

The 2024 USC Football Schedule is about as tough as it comes, but it will be a great opportunity for Riley and his staff to prove that in Year 3, USC is ready to compete for championships.
