The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on the 1100 block of East 33rd Street in the Central-Alameda neighborhood within South Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Police Department’s Newton Division officers responded to reports of the dog being shot in the area.

Officers located the animal in the street and requested animal services to the location. Witnesses in the area stated that they heard and saw a suspect in a sedan firing an unknown weapon at the dog.

The dog is fed and cared for by most of the neighbors on the street that KNN spoke with off camera.

A good Samaritan was seen in the area trying to capture the animal to get it help at a local shelter.
