When the Los Angeles Lakers chose to select Bronny James with the No. 55 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, the decision quickly became a polarizing topic around the world of sports.

While some cried "nepotism" given Bronny's family connections, others think it will be exciting to see the first father-son duo in NBA history.

Lakers guard Austin Reaves is a member of the latter camp.

During his recent offseason trip to the Philippines, Reaves was asked about his team's decision to add Bronny in this year's draft.

“For LeBron to just put himself in position to play with his son, it’s special. I know he will be motivated to play at his peak level. For me to be around them and to see what it’s going to be like, that’s going to be very cool for me," Reaves said.

Reaves also shared thoughts on his relationship with LeBron James.

"I mean, in my opinion, he's the greatest player ever,” Reaves said. “And for him to treat me the way that he treats me since day one has been very special for me. It's been nothing but love. I've been able to pick his brain on the stuff that he does to be prepared, take care of his body.”

Reaves signed a four-year, $56 million contract extension with the Lakers last summer.
