It's been a scary week for Los Angeles Dodgers star Freddie Freeman.

Recently, his son, Max, was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with a rare condition called Gullian-Barre syndrome, which causes the immune system to attack the nerves and result in paralysis.

Fortunately, Freeman's wife, Chelsea revealed a promising update on Sunday.

"After eight long days in the Pediatric ICU we are officially home," Chelsea wrote on Instagram. "Max still has a long road ahead of him to regain his strength and relearn how to walk. But we are so thankful to have our family back together."

It certainly has been a scary week for Freeman and his family. However, it appears that Max is on the road to recovery, which is encouraging.

Freeman has been away from the Dodgers during this series of events, and Los Angeles hasn't performed great in his absence. They are 4-6 in their last 10 games. But Freeman's return should give them a boost.

More importantly though, it's certainly a relief that Max was able to survive this harrowing experience and is now on the road to recovery. It obviously hasn't been a pleasant experience for him and the Freeman family over the past week.

As Chelsea alluded to, it will be a long road to recovery, but Max will have his whole family and the entire Major League Baseball community rallying behind him as he begins his healing journey.
