The Los Angeles Dodgers did some depth chart re-arranging to start the week.

With 50 games remaining in the regular season, Los Angeles is 65-47, good for a four and a half game lead in the National League West.

On Monday night, it was revealed that the Dodgers designated utility man Cavan Biggio for assignment.

Biggio, 29, was traded to Los Angeles from the Toronto Blue Jays on June 12 for minor league pitcher Braydon Fisher. Biggio has appeared in 30 games for the Dodgers this season, hitting .192/ .305/ .329 with three home runs and 10 RBIs.

The move to DFA Biggio was made to clear roster room for All-Star Freddie Freeman, according to SB Nation's Eric Stephen.

Freeman has returned to the Dodgers after being on leave to care for his ill son, Maximus, who has now fortunately returned to health and been sent home from the hospital. Dodgers players and staff were seen on Monday wearing "Max Strong" t-shirts to honor Freeman's son.

Los Angeles begins a three-game series at home against the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday night, with Tyler Glasnow taking the mound to start the series.
