Dodgers Manager Reveals Mookie Betts Plan Amid Injury

    By Quinn Allen,

The Los Angeles Dodgers may sit at the top of the National League West, but they've been without superstar Mookie Betts, who has missed nearly two months with a fracture in his left hand. Before the injury, Betts was the team's starting shortstop and it appeared he'd probably return at a different position, especially after they added Nick Ahmed and Amed Rosario.

That won't be the case, though. Betts will be the Dodgers' starting SS again when he's back in the lineup next week, manager Dave Roberts said on Tuesday afternoon, via Dodgers Insider.

Miguel Rojas did a great job at shortstop in Betts' place, but he recently went on the IL with a forearm strain on July 22. Rojas hit .262 and played solid defense.

Although Betts isn't a natural SS, he did well prior to going on the shelf, compiling a .963 fielding percentage in 65 games. He also played 16 contests at second base.

The eight-time All-Star is slashing .304 on the year with 10 home runs and 40 RBI. Los Angeles also welcomed Freddie Freeman back on Monday after his son's scary health battle.
