PnB Rock Murder Trial: Two Men Guilty on All Counts

Two men have been found guilty on all counts in connection to the murder of PnB Rock.

According to Rolling Stone , Freddie Trone, 42, was charged with felony murder, two counts of robber and one count of conspiracy earlier today. A jury took less than four hours to decide the fate of Trone, who sent his armed 17-year-old son into a Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles to rob the late rapper on Sept. 12, 2022.

Additionally, Trone’s co-defendant Tremont Jones, 46, was found guilty on one count of conspiracy and two counts of robbery. Jones allegedly told Trone of the rapper’s whereabouts on the day of his murder.

Rock, whose real name is Rakim Allen, died at the age of 30 in South Los Angeles. The jury foreperson said the panel of four women and eight women determined that Trone was driving the vehicle that dropped off and picked up the 17-year-old in surveillance footage.

That footage was crucial to delivering the verdict, as Trone’s defense lawyer Winston McKesson argued that his son took his car keys to execute the murder. Deputy District Attorney Timothy Richardson rebutted the claim, stating that Trone knew his son was dangerous and gave his son a semi-automatic gun, ski mask and a robbery plot.

Meanwhile, Jones said he had no involvement with the murder plot. Following Allen’s death, some pointed out that his fiancée Stephanie Sibounheuang had suggested their location by posting about her meal at Roscoe’s on social media. During the trial, she stated that she didn’t specify which location she was at in the since-deleted post, and Richardson suggested it was in fact Jones who supplied the information.

Allen’s mother Deanna Allen shared her relief after the verdict was read. “I’m elated,” she said. “I wanted to jump up and scream, ‘Hallelujah.’ I’m so happy it was quick. We got justice for Rakim. I feel better knowing they’ll be in jail for a long time.”
