    Woman's body found with no legs in California waterway, coroner asks public to help ID

    Officials in California are asking the public for help identifying a woman whose body was found in a southern Los Angeles County channel with both legs missing.

    The County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner reported the body of an unidentififed female was found Sunday afternoon in the Dominguez Channel .

    The stream is in the city of Carson between Interstate 405 and the SouthBay Pavilion Mall.

    The woman's body has a large skin tag on the right portion of her torso and stretch marks on her lower abdomen, the medical examiner's office reported.

    Her age, race, height, and weight are not yet able to be determined, the coroner wrote.

    The woman was found wearing an XL sleeveless, button up "Old Navy" knit dress.

    The woman's cause and manner of death were pending Friday.

    Anyone with information was asked to contact the sheriff's homicide detectives at 213- 229-1700.
