KCSO East Area Substation Section- Outlaw Motorcycle Gang Member Arrested
Kern County Sheriff’s Office – Public Information Officer. On 6/14/2024, Deputies from the East Area Substations Section began working on a Community Oriented Policing project (COPs) in the Tehachapi area. Deputies learned about numerous Vagos motorcycle gang members in the area that were harassing customers at a local business.

A bear who climbed a tree in Chatsworth and stayed there for hours Tuesday is back in the peace and quiet of Southern California's mountain wilderness. Photos provided by the state Department of Fish and Wildlife show the bear with a history of adventurous travel resting in the wilderness after she was tranquillized and removed late Tuesday morning from the tree in a San Fernando Valley neighborhood. The bear drew onlookers from a nearby apartment complex after wandering around the business park, jumping a chain-link fence and camping out overnight on a tree branch.

Historic Granite School, homes saved from fire in Woody
The historic Granite School and multiple homes were saved from a vegetation fire at Woody Granite and Oakberry roads in Woody on Wednesday. Arriving firefighters saw a column of smoke in the distance and air support said the Berry Fire had the potential to burn 1,000 acres, but it was kept to 60, a Kern County Fire Department news release said.
