Hometown Heroes
Group offering personalized banners for veterans to be displayed throughout town. Recently, the Louisa County Hometown Heroes honored 41 veterans on Memorial Day by posting several banners throughout town. All 41 of those veterans are engraved into the wall of the Virginia War Memorial in downtown Richmond; all of which earned Purple Hearts, and many of which were killed in action. On July 1, the Louisa County Hometown Heroes began their next campaign, opening up the initiative to all veterans of Louisa County. Family members of local veterans will now have the opportunity to sponsor a 2 1/2 x 5 feet banner that will display a photograph, the branch and years served, as well as what war each individual served in. The group, consisting of Travis Daniel, Tommy Nelson, Becky Gywnn, Willie Harper, and Manning Woodward, claimed that it’s just all about bringing proper attention to those that served honorably.

In a major announcement, Dominion Energy has announced it's moving forward with plans to potentially develop a new source of energy. They’re called small modular reactors (SMRs), which generate nuclear power.
