A tragic report has emerged stating that a mother's four-year-old son was found dead in a lake, while her baby turned out to be miraculously discovered alive alongside the highway . Sent shortly before the unsettling incident, a chilling text message from the woman casts an eerie light on events .

Baby Kingtrail Jack was feared to have shared his brother Legend's fate, whose body was recovered from a lake near the Texas border. However, the infant was later labelled as a "miracle", having survived two full days alone outdoors during Hurricane Beryl.

A truck driver luckily chanced upon the one year old crawling in a ditch on the eastbound lane of I-10 which marked an end to the desperate search for him launched by Calcasieu Sheriff Stitch Guillory.

The boys' mother, Aaliyah Jack, aged 25, currently finds herself under arrest at a distance of around 350 miles from where her children were located.

She is facing charges of failing to report a missing child. Details released by bereaved grandparent Conswella Jack outline how she had received an unsettling message from her daughter before she vanished with her sons. Residing in Lake Charles and once entrusted with caring for the boys, Conswella disclosed their story to The Acadiana Advocate.

The tale involves a distressing conversation where Aaliyah's challenges are brought to light, justifying the joint intervention by the maternal and paternal grandmothers to look after the children.

In yet another shocking twist to the tragic narrative, Conswella recalls an encounter with her daughter in Lafayette. They met there attending Conswella's own mother's funeral last Saturday.

This was reportedly when Aaliyah seized the opportunity to abscond with the boys.

Recounting her last interaction with Jack, Conswella said: "The next day, which was Sunday, after trying to call her, she finally reaches out to me, but it's a text. She sent me a picture of a car in some bushes that kind of looked like it was wrecked. I was confused, so I called, called and called, and could not reach her."

Upon learning about the fate of her grandchildren, Conswella expressed mixed feelings. "I was so blessed to hear the baby survived but also so hurt because one is now gone," she shared.

The lorry driver who discovered Kingtrail immediately alerted the authorities upon finding the child, who was unharmed except for bug bites. In a touching statement, Sheriff Guillory referred to him as: "We look at this one-year-old as our miracle baby because he was still alive."

He further added: "This kid spent two days out in the weather on the side of the highway. Thank God that trucker seen him."

The search for the child took place amidst the challenging conditions of Hurricane Beryl, which brought heavy rain and high-speed winds to the eastern part of Texas early on Monday.

"This kid spent two days out in the weather, on the side of the highway. ... When you look at the video, here he was, crawling toward the highway," Guillory stated. According to Guillory and Calcasieu Parish court records, Jack has no criminal history.

Conswella, who had been looking after the children while trying to get her life back on track, is now faced with a devastating loss and legal battle. She shared her grief: "I just buried my mother, and now my grandson? And he's only 4 years old. Legend was so sweet and just lovable."

She also stated: "Now I have to fight for my grandson. It's stressful because they're gonna put me through all what I'm about to go through just to get him back. I don't even have the funds for it, so I have to do everything I can to get that baby back, because ain't nobody know him like we know him."

The future proceedings in the case against Jack will hinge on the findings of Legend's autopsy.
