Three Buffs make College Football News’ preseason ranking of top 25 Big 12 players
Led by quarterback Shedeur Sanders at the No. 1 spot, three Colorado Buffaloes standouts made College Football News’ preseason ranking of the Big 12’s top 25 players. Cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter slotted in at No. 3, one spot behind Oklahoma State star running back Ollie Gordon II, and safety Shilo Sanders snuck in at No. 23. While three is a respectable number of players, other deserving Buffs include wide receiver LaJohntay Wester, defensive lineman BJ Green II and defensive end Dayon Hayes. You could also make an argument for punter Mark Vassett, wide receiver Will Sheppard, linebacker LaVonta Bentley and others. College Football News gave the most love to the Arizona Wildcats, who led all teams with five featured players: wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan (No. 5), cornerback Tacario Davis (No. 6), linebacker Jacob Manu (No. 16), quarterback Noah Fifita (No. 18) and offensive tackle Jonah Savaiinaea (No. 19).
