Three people are dead and one is in critical condition from four separate vehicle crashes in Louisville on Sunday, a Louisville Metro Police spokesperson said.

    Here is what we know:

1 dead from possible hit-and-run in Old Louisville

Louisville Metro Police is investigating after a woman found dead in an alley is believed to have been struck by a vehicle Sunday night. LMPD is looking for the driver of an unknown vehicle.

Sometime after 10 p.m., officers with the Fourth Division were dispatched to the 900 block of South First Street, where they found the body of a woman "obviously deceased," LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said. In a preliminary investigation, officers determined the woman was struck and killed by a vehicle in the area.

LMPD's traffic unit is investigating the incident.

Train strike leaves pedestrian dead in southwest Louisville

A man died Sunday night after he was struck by a train at Dixie Highway near Pendleton Road, Bradley said. Officers with the Third Division located the man around 9:25 p.m.

Pendleton Road was blocked by a stopped train while police investigators worked at the scene, Bradley said. The road reopened after police left the scene, a MetroSafe representative told The Courier Journal on Monday.

1 dead in collision between motorcycle, SUV in Old Louisville

A man died Sunday after he was struck by an SUV while riding his motorcycle, Bradley said.

The man was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital after officers from the Fourth Division arrived at Fourth and Hill streets around 4:50 p.m. The man was pronounced dead in the hospital, Bradley said.

In a preliminary investigation, officers determined the man driving the motorcycle ignored a red light while traveling north on Hill Street, which caused him to collide with a Toyota Highlander heading west on Hill Street, Bradley said. No other injuries were reported.

LMPD's traffic unit is investigating the incident.

1 man in critical condition after collision between motorcycle, van

A man has been hospitalized for what are believed to be life-threatening injuries after his motorcycle was struck by a van in Okolona on Sunday, Bradley said.

Just before 6:15 p.m., officers from the Seventh Division were dispatched to the 9900 block of Blue Lick Road on a report of an injury collision, Bradley said. The driver of the motorcycle was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital, where they are in critical condition. No other injuries were reported.

Officers determined in a preliminary investigation the motorcycle driver was traveling "at a high rate of speed" while traveling south on Blue Lick Road, Bradley said. Police believe the motorcycle struck a passenger van heading north on Blue Lick Road at Old School House Road.

The intersection reopened at 10:15 p.m. Sunday after it was blocked for a police investigation, Bradley said.
