EST Gee’s booking agent Devontae Beach was found shot dead last weekend after the rapper’s hometown concert. According to local news station WAVE , Beach, also known as EST Big Beach was not only the contact to EST Gee shows, but also a little league football coach.

Last Saturday night (July 20), Beach was found blocks from the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, KY., following the EST Gee and Friends Summer Jam concert which also featured artists including Lil Baby, 42 Dugg, and more.

WDRB reported the city and venue increased security for the sold-out event due to EST Gee’s affiliation with Everybody Shine Together, an alleged street gang. This included heavy police presence outside of the venue as well as members of the special response team, SWAT, air unit, and criminal interdiction unit. In total, at least 80 officers were sent out, using more than 600 hours of overtime, costing more than $44,000.

According to the outlet, a letter from County Attorney Mike O’Connell to the general manager of the KFC Yum! Center suggested the arena cancel the concert due to the threat of gun violence.

“Anytime someone is killed due to gun violence, it’s a tragedy,” shared the Mayor’s Office in a statement to WAVE . “We have far too many shootings in our city, which is why improving public safety is Mayor Greenberg’s number one priority right now.”

“We sincerely thank our team, LMPD, and our arena partners for their diligent efforts in implementing the planned enhanced security measures during EST Gee’s concert on Saturday night,” added a statement from the Yum! Center. “Ensuring our staff and guests’ safety is paramount, and these additional measures effectively ensured a secure environment for everyone attending the concert. We also appreciate the fans for their cooperation in making the event enjoyable and memorable.”
