Windham Economic Development Corporation formulates plan for sustainable growth
Windham’s Economic Development Corporation, or WEDC, presented an updated strategic economic development plan crafted by Crane Associates at the July Windham Town Council meeting. The plan, presented by WEDC Executive Director Thomas Bartell, identifies four objectives and strategies to pave the way for sustainable growth and community enhancement in Windham.
WHS graduate Brown continues to give back to basketball program
Windham High School 2020 graduate Cameron Brown was a star on the court, while succeeding in the classroom. He’ll be a senior in the fall at the University of Southern Maine in Gorham, majoring in media studies, with a minor in athletics coaching. He’s been volunteering his time with Windham High School’s basketball program coaching the boys’ first or freshmen team, the summer junior varsity team and the varsity team during the fall season. His goal is to get to the highest level of college coaching he can.
Windham converts to new system collection system Sept. 9
A big change is coming to how trash is collected in Windham, and it won’t be very long before new tote carts will be wheeling up and down driveways across town. Near the start of 2023, members of the Windham Town Council reached an agreement with Casella Waste Systems, also known as Pine Tree Waste, to convert the town to an automated trash removal system. Casella was the only refuse contractor to bid for Windham’s services and told town officials that ongoing labor issues and expenses required a conversion to a system with trash collected curbside by a driver using an automated retrieval system.

August 2024: CDC Says New Hampshire and Maine Have ‘Very High’ COVID Levels
The CDC, according to WMUR, is reporting "very high" COVID levels in New Hampshire and Maine. The Association of American Medical Colleges, (AAMC) says that as of the beginning of August, 2024, the percentage of people reporting positive for COVID was at the highest point since January of 2022. Hospital visits due to COVID-19 have also increased.

Maine Community Group Reports Surge in Coyote & Bobcat Daytime Sightings
