Thank God that Williamson City Attorney Nathan Brown is a good lawyer. I know he can’t help that sometimes, especially in the past, he had a fool for a client. Brown made the discovery that former disgraced mayor Charlie Hatfield still has his name on the ballot for that same position. Brown noted that if the council doest make a decision to remove Hatfield form the ballot by Aug. 13, then his name will remain on the ballot.
Area offices, businesses closed for July 4 holiday
All federal, state and local governmental offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4, in observance of the Independence Day holiday. In keeping with state closure guidelines, the administrative offices of the Mingo County Commission, the Mingo County Courthouse and the Memorial Building Annex will also be closed on Thursday, July 4. As of presstime, those offices were scheduled to reopen on Friday, July 5.
