Court battle continues for University of the Arts employees still waiting for their final paychecks
Employees left jobless by last month’s sudden closure of the University of the Arts are continuing the legal push for their final paychecks. They say the school violated federal law by failing to give them 60 days’ notice before it closed.
Abington schools hire Dr. Carmen Lesesne as new Equity Officer
The Abington School District announced that Dr. Carmen Lesesne has been hired as the district’s new Equity Officer. La Salle College High School in Wyndmoor shared that two alumni recently recorded major athletic accomplishments. Mike McGettigan, Class of 1989 (pictured above and below), a four-year swimmer for the Explorers, won nine medals (five gold) at the Transplant Games in Birmingham, Alabama after undergoing a liver transplant in 2022.
