Wapiti Fire grows to over 70,000 acres; update for August 27
STANLEY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — There will be a community meeting on Tuesday at the fire station in Lowman, Idaho at 6 p.m. This meeting will be streamed live on Facebook. As of Monday afternoon, fire activity increased, growing to 70,271 acres with 0% containment. The fire began moving towards Crooked Creek. Air tankers were used to create a retardant line near Iron Creek and east of Highway 21. The main focus continues to be the protection of structures and communities.
