    Where to watch fireworks in the Lubbock area

    LUBBOCK, Texas — The Fourth of July is on Thursday and Lubbock and its surrounding area are celebrating the holiday with a bang. Every year, these communities host celebrations topped off with a fireworks show.

    Here’s a list of places where you and the whole family can catch fireworks.

    Lubbock

    Lubbock hosts the annual 4th on Broadway, which kicks off with a parade at 9:45 a.m. and is followed by a series of events and is capped off with the United Supermarkets Fireworks Extravaganza at 10:00 p.m. at Mackenzie Park.

    Wolfforth

    The town of Wolfforth will be hosting its annual “Fourth of July on the 5th” celebration on Friday at Patterson Park. The fireworks display will happen at dark.

    Lubbock Fire Rescue, Mr. W Fireworks share tips for safety when using fireworks

    Buffalo Springs Lake

    Buffalo Springs Lake will host its annual fireworks show on Saturday, July 6, at nightfall. Tickets for the celebration range from $5 to $15, and kids ages five and under are free.

    Brownfield

    The town of Terry County will celebrate the Fourth with its annual golf cart parade and fireworks display, which will begin at 10:00 a.m.

    Smaller communities
